Join us for a morning of wildflower planting at Joppa Pans. The City of Edinburgh Council have kindly agreed to allow us to do some planting on the site of Joppa pans – the piece of grassland beside the Rockville Hotel on Seaview Terrace. Currently the area is a little uninspiring and not very species rich – we’ll be sowing a new wildflower meadow and planting native shrubs and wildflowers along the sea wall. Why not come along to help us plant – helping to make the shoreline more attractive for people, and better for wildlife? Drop in – you can stay for as little or as long as you’d like.
Sunday 22nd September – 10am-3pm.
Please wear clothing suitable for the weather and sturdy shoes.
We will provide equipment such as gloves and trowels, but if you do have your own spades or rakes that you could bring along that would be helpful. Please bring a drink with you, and if you are planning to stay for the whole day they please bring a packed lunch or bring some money to purchase something from the Rockville Hotel or a nearby shop.
