Event Details

The team at the Scottish Seabird Centre are looking forward to you joining them for a Shorebird Walk this November. This introductory session to shorebirds will include a brief classroom session followed by a walk along the neighbouring coastline and will give participants the opportunity to learn about, and hopefully see, the Winter shorebirds and waders that are seen in the Firth of Forth.

The education centre will be open from 12:15 for the group to meet. From 12:30 there will be a quick indoor session covering health and safety, the walk route, and bird ID. We will then walk along the coast to see the birds. No prior knowledge required.

There are a limited number of places available for this event, so please book your free ticket in advance on:

There will be both Scottish Seabird Centre and Edinburgh Shoreline project staff on hand at this event.

This event is suitable for adults. Persons 16 & 17 years of age should be accompanied by an adult.

Please dress for the weather, and remember that it will likely be cold. Remember to wear sturdy shoes such as wellies or walking boots. If you have your own binoculars please bring them, alternatively there are a few binoculars for us to borrow.

The Scottish Seabird Centre is a great day out and will be open both before and after the walk should you wish to visit. They also have toilet and cafe facilities.

The Edinburgh Shoreline project is able to reimburse your bus or train travel to North Berwick for this event. Please contact our Project Manager Charlotte Johnson prior to the event on to arrange reimbursement.
