This beautiful, sensitive clever creature is something we need to protect and treasure. We can learn so much by watching how it manages it’s environment and relates to others. I am so saddened by the growth of octopus farms.
My octopus is made from merino and silk fibres, you will see an insert, this is paper made from seaweed fibres and pieces of seaweed. I have tried to represent the environment it belongs in. And show through a number of different techniques it’s unique sensory suckers, these are scattered throughout the piece.
