Having spent my working life peering down a microscope I felt that this was a chance to shine a light on the microscopic world! The dinoflagellate, Polykrikos schwartzii has been found to regulate toxic algal growth.
The piece is embroidered using scrap fabric, embroidery thread, waste plastic-covered wire, fisherman’s twine picked up on the beach and scraps of plastic from food packaging.
