We picked the Snakelocks Anemone as we learned it lived just down the road from us! Once we started looking up images we knew it was the species for as us as it’s main colours are green and purple which is our youth club’s colours too! We learnt that they love the sunlight, use their stingy tentacles to catch their dinner of prawns, wee fish and sea snails and they also glow green under ultraviolet lights. As they live in shallow water they are particularly impacted by pollution. We think the Snakelocks Anemone is very special and we should take care of our oceans and species to make sure they always live in their chosen homes.
We used variety of materials that we already had in our art room – paints, foam, stones and shells we had collected on a previous trip to Cramond Beach.
