Bottlenose Dolphin (Tursiops truncatus) – By Valerie Duncan

I chose the bottlenose dolphin because they are smart, friendly, and fun to watch.

Bottlenose dolphins can be 4 metres in length when fully grown. They may live 40 – 50 years.

The east coast of Scotland has a resident population of around 224 bottlenose dolphins.

Changes in the marine environment such as organic pollutants, underwater noise or collision with vessels can impact dolphins.

This is a hand painted clay sculpture. Its height is 17cm, width 16cm and, depth 12cm.
