100 Species

I chose the sand goby as it is a small, insignificant, unglamorous fish, but it is just as important to the marine ecosystem as as any more well-known sea creature. I wanted to give it a ‘moment of glory’ by celebrating it in a painting. The picture is painted in watercolour & gouache, mounted on board & protected with acrylic varnish. It measures 54x68cm.
