SKY, one of Restoration Forth’s amazing funders, have been very supportive of the project for years and were keen to better understand the practicalities. After discussion, WWF organised an oyster citizen science session with 37 Sky employees at Cramond Beach.
WWF gave an introduction to the project and what Sky had supported with their funding. MCS then gave a short intro to the activity, the Oyster Observer Guide survey. Each group leader then ran through the history of oysters and the Firth of Forth, the background and purpose of the activity and then ran through how to complete a survey and how the results are used.
A great day for all, and fortunately the rain stayed off, almost until we finished!
