Our 100 Species exhibition is now at The Scottish Fisheries Museum in Anstruther! The 100 Species Exhibition celebrates the life that thrives on our coast and in our seas. It takes viewers on a journey from the skies above, to the shore, through the inter-tidal zone, before finally taking a deep dive under the waves.

The wolf fish is a fascinating creature that plays an important role in the ocean’s ecosystems. Unfortunately, overfishing, pollution, and climate change are putting immense pressure on its population. Without action, the wolf fish could become extinct in our lifetimes.
‘Save our seaweeds’ by Alison Harker
Oarweed, Wakame, and Bladderwrack. A textile project with a background dyed with Indigo. Seaweeds represented in a variety of media and techniques – Machine embroidery, hot iron cutting and crochet. Found objects suspended on fabric strips, printed in acrylics on seaweed, mark-making. All supported on driftwood and backed on found abandoned fishing net.
Native Oyster by Alison Harker
Native Oyster Textile project – Background is dyed Indigo and Fustic. I found the other objects including, native oyster shells, driftwood, stones, fishing line. I attached and embellished them with embroidery and beading, and framed on driftwood.
